Janelle Wood founded and President of the Black Mothers Forum in Arizona in 2016. The organization strives to dismantle systemic racism and ultimately create a safer, more inclusive environment for children and families. Janelle has an economics degree from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in biblical leadership from Phoenix Seminary. She is the founder of a homeless ministry and served as a teacher, coach, and mentor to women released from prison. In May 2021, Janelle partnered with the Prenda Microschool Network to launch a chain of K-8 microschools in her community to address the injustices she seeks to rectify in the large education system.
